What can be changed on a mannequin head, how a custom mould is made, and how design exclusivity is protected.
A mannequin head is one of the few display products where customisation costs very little and changes how the whole range looks.
Every head is made up by hand, so eye, brow and lip work can follow your reference image instead of our standard. Nothing about the mould changes, so there is no tooling cost — you are only specifying how the artist finishes it.
Flesh, brown, white and greyish white are the tones we run most, and we also produce blue, cyan, green and other finishes. Choose the tone against the hair colours you actually sell, not against a photo — a brown head and a brown wig can fight each other.
When a shape does not exist yet, we cut a new copper mould in house. Lead time is about 10 days, after which the head goes into normal production at 3,000 pieces within ten days.
Mould making, production and delivery all happen inside our own plant. That is the practical reason a design developed for a customer does not appear in someone else's catalogue — nobody outside the factory sees the tooling.
On massage and lash training heads, the eyelashes can be human hair, synthetic hair or left off entirely, at 1.5 cm, 2 cm or a length you specify.
