Choosing Between High Back Middle Back And Visitor Chairs
One series usually covers all three. Here is how to allocate them across a floor without over specifying.
What The Suffix Means
Across this range the model code carries the version: H for high back, M for middle back and S for the visitor or sled base version. DLS-2323H, DLS-2323M and DLS-2323S are the same design in three heights. That is what makes whole floor consistency possible.
High Back
High back models run from about 105 cm to 130 cm overall height, usually with a headrest. They belong in manager and director offices, where the chair is occupied for long periods and seen from the doorway.
Middle Back
Middle back models sit around 90 cm to 120 cm. They are the workstation chair: enough back support for a full day, no headrest to collide with a low partition.
Visitor And Sled Base
Sled base models such as the 2228S, 2215S and 2205S have no gas lift and no casters. They belong in front of a desk and in meeting rooms, and they stack against a wall better than a castored chair.
Allocating Across A Floor
A typical office floor runs roughly one high back per enclosed office, one middle back per workstation and two visitor chairs per meeting position. Quoting all three from one series keeps the floor visually consistent and keeps the reorder simple two years later.
