Corrosion is the failure mode nobody budgets for. This page sets out what we tested, how long for, and what it does — and does not — prove about a fixture on your project.
The programme
A neutral salt spray test, run to 1000 hours.
With the help of our Japanese partners, samples of our outdoor LED fixtures were placed in a neutral salt spray chamber and run to 1000 hours. A salt fog chamber compresses years of seafront exposure into weeks, which is why it is the standard screening test for coastal hardware.
- Housing and finish: die-cast aluminium body and coating checked for blistering, undercutting and adhesion loss.
- Fasteners: stainless hardware and the housing interface, where dissimilar metals normally pit first.
- Seals: gasket and lens interfaces inspected for ingress after exposure — a corroded seal face is how an IP65 fixture quietly stops being IP65.

The housing survives severe salt exposure
1000 hours sits at the demanding end of the neutral salt spray scale for architectural lighting. It is real evidence for seafront, harbour and island work.
A guaranteed service life in years
Chamber hours do not convert to field years by a fixed ratio. Real exposure depends on distance to the water, prevailing wind, wash-down regime and nearby industrial pollutants.
Tell us the site conditions
Distance from the shoreline, mounting height, and whether the fixture is rinsed by rain or sheltered under a soffit — these change our housing recommendation more than the wattage does.

Certification documents are available on request per product family and destination market — tell us which certificates your submittal requires and we will send what applies to that build.

Can I get the salt spray report for my submittal?
Yes. Ask and we will send the test scope and results for the relevant sample so it can be attached to your documentation.
Is the coastal specification a different product?
It is the same optical and electrical platform on the verified housing and finish specification. Model numbers and photometrics stay comparable, so you can swap it into an existing schedule without re-doing the calculations.
What warranty do you offer?
Warranty terms are set per order and per product family. Confirm them in writing with your quotation before you place the order — a warranty that is not on the quotation is not a warranty.
Can you match an existing fixture already on site?
Often yes. Send photographs, the mounting detail and the original datasheet, and we will tell you honestly whether we can match it or only approximate it.
Do you provide photometric files?
IES files are available for the main outdoor families on request. Tell us the model and wattage and we will send what exists rather than a generic file.
