The Process

Four Stages From First Question to Delivered Goods

Each stage lists the problem it exists to prevent, then what happens in practice.

  1. Requirement Review

    A private label programme usually starts from a target price and a fitment, not a drawing.

    We work back from the mounting position, the voltage system and the approval you need, and shortlist housings from the existing range before anything is tooled.

  2. Sample Build

    Committing to a container before anyone has held the lamp is where private label programmes go wrong.

    Samples are built from the production tooling so what you test is what you receive. Lens finish, bracket and connector are fixed at this point.

  3. Branding and Packaging

    Marking and packaging are usually the last thing agreed and the first thing that delays shipment.

    Housing marking, lens marking, label artwork and carton print are confirmed in writing before the production run is scheduled.

  4. Production and Delivery

    Lead time has to be predictable enough to plan a container around.

    Production runs to the agreed specification with lead time of about 30 to 40 days, and products carry a two year warranty.
