The 12.6cm VFX Ball Kit pairs one highly polished stainless steel chrome ball with one 18% reflective grey ball so a data wrangler can shoot both lighting references in a single pass.
Both balls mount on 30cm carbon fibre handles with a 3/8 UNC thread, so they fit the same tripod and camera fittings already on the cart.
Everything travels in one protective case with a polar fleece bag for each ball and a colour checker chart.

Materials
The chrome ball is polished stainless steel. The grey ball carries 50% grey paint with 18% reflectivity. Handles are carbon fibre.
Manufacturing Process
Each sphere passes more than 20 surface treatment steps so the mirror side holds a clean specular reflection instead of an orange peel texture.
Quality Control
Grey scale is checked against long term test references used for post production work, which is how the 18% figure is held from batch to batch.

Customization Options

Compared with the single 12.6cm half mirror half grey ball, this kit gives two separate surfaces, so chrome and grey can sit side by side in one frame instead of being turned over between frames.
Use Guide
How Crews Work With This Product
- Thread both handles into the 3/8 UNC sockets before the first setup of the day
- Hold the balls at the subject position, filling roughly the same distance as the actor
- Shoot a bracketed set on the chrome ball for the HDRI, then the grey ball for exposure
- Finish with the colour check chart in the same light before the balls go back in the case

Does the kit include a tripod
No. Tripods are not included with any VFX Ball product. The 3/8 UNC thread fits standard tripod and camera fittings.
How fast can the kit ship
We ship as soon as the kit is ready and in the worst case we ask for up to 15 days for dispatch. Economy shipping by FedEx, DHL or a similar service is included in the price.
