12.6cm Half Mirror Half Grey Ball
A single 12.6cm sphere with a stretch handle for tight sets
View productCleaning, handling and storage for VFX reference balls, including why fingerprints and scratches show up directly in the HDRI.

A fingerprint on a mirror sphere is a soft patch in the reflected environment. A scratch on grey paint reads as a change in lighting. Both travel into post production.
Fit the handle first and carry the ball by it. The threads are there so nobody has to hold the reflective surface.
Use the supplied cloth cover or a soft cloth. Dry paper towels drag grit across the polish.
A mirror ball and a grey ball packed against each other will mark. The kits ship with a polar fleece bag for each sphere and a hard case for a reason.
Our products are handmade and may carry slight paint and finish variation. This does not affect how they perform as a reference.
