Artwork and Proofing
Most delays on a custom print order are artwork delays, not production delays. This is how a file becomes an approved proof without a week of email.
Every Point Where A Custom Order Can Slip
File Check
The problem: The end client sends a low-resolution JPEG or a file with live fonts, and nobody notices until press.
How we handle it: We check every file on receipt. Vector art in AI, EPS, PDF or CDR with outlined fonts is ideal; JPEG, BMP, GIF and PSD are workable if the size and resolution are right.
Artwork Preparation
The problem: A distributor has no in-house designer and the client will not pay for one.
How we handle it: Our graphic designers create or repair the art file at no charge, including redrawing a logo to vector where the supplied file will not print cleanly.
Colour Specification
The problem: A brand colour drifts between production runs and the end client notices.
How we handle it: Send the PMS reference with the artwork. We colour match to it, and the approved file stays on record so a reorder starts from the same place.
E-Proof
The problem: Nobody wants to authorise production on a verbal description.
How we handle it: We produce an e-proof showing layout, orientation and finishing before anything is printed. You approve it, or reply on the same thread with changes until it is right.
Revision
The problem: Changes turn into a long chain of half-understood emails.
How we handle it: Reply to the proof email with the changes written in it. We send a revised proof and repeat until the layout is approved. A change to the artwork itself needs a new art file.
Release
The problem: A buyer needs the option to stop before money is committed to production.
How we handle it: Cancellation with a full refund is possible any time before the proof is approved, allowing up to 10 business days for the credit. Once production starts the order cannot be cancelled.
