Claims Are Won Or Lost In The Carton

Glass tops, gloss panels and plated legs are the three things most likely to arrive damaged in a furniture container. Our packing standard and our pre loading inspection are both built around them.

Five Layer Carton

All export packing is five layer carton with foam and PVC bags. The foam takes the impact, the PVC bag keeps moisture and abrasion off the finish, and the carton holds its shape under stacking.

QC Before Loading

Each product is checked by QC before loading. The point of inspecting before the container closes is simple: a fault found on our floor costs us a chair, a fault found on your dock costs you a claim.

Data Before You Order

Where our records hold them, carton quantity, gross weight, cubic volume and 40HQ loading quantity are published per model so you can work out landed cost before committing.

Checked At Each Stage

Where Faults Get Caught

  • Frames — weld condition, squareness and stability under load before finishing.
  • Finish — powder coat and plating checked for chips, runs and colour drift against the approved sample.
  • Glass — edge condition, fit to the base and seating of the panel before it is packed.
  • Upholstery — cover tension, stitching, foam and colour match across the run.
  • Hardware — fittings and assembly parts present and correct in every carton.
  • Carton — markings, sealing and stacking condition before the container is loaded.

Quality And Packing Questions

What exactly does QC check before loading?+
Every product is checked by QC before it goes into the container. That covers the things that generate claims in this category: frame stability and weld condition, finish damage on plated and gloss surfaces, glass edges and seating, upholstery and stitching, hardware completeness and carton condition.
Why five layer carton rather than three?+
Furniture in this category travels a long way and is handled several times. Five layer carton with foam and PVC bags holds its shape through stacking and inland delivery, which is where thinner packing usually fails.
How do you protect glass tops?+
Glass is the highest claim risk we handle. Tops and shelves are packed with foam and PVC bags inside five layer carton so the panel is not resting against carton wall or hardware.
Do you provide carton and volume data before I order?+
Where our records hold it, carton quantity, gross weight per carton, volume per carton and loading quantity for a 40HQ are published on the individual product page. Where they are not published, ask us and we will confirm for that model.
Can I send a third party inspector?+
Yes. Third party inspection before loading is normal practice for export furniture and we can arrange access to the plant for it.
What are the payment terms?+
30% T/T in advance with the balance against documents, or an L/C at sight. Delivery is within 30 days after we receive the advance payment or the L/C.
