Framing Stretching And Gallery Wrapping
Every canvas leaves the factory either rolled for freight or stretched and gallery-wrapped on a solid wooden frame with the hanging hardware already fitted.
Framing is the stage where most canvas orders are won or lost. A print can be perfect and still arrive with a bowed frame or a slack surface if the stretcher is too light for the size. We stretch over solid wooden frames at 3 cm depth, which is the build quoted on our price list.
Gallery wrapping means the image is continued around the edge of the frame rather than stopping at the face, so the piece looks finished from the side. Hanging hardware is fitted before packing on every stretched canvas.
Alongside framing, the workshops handle decoration, hot stamping and screen printing, which is how framed art, wooden wall paintings and hanging paintings are produced in the same building.
Process
From Print To Packed Piece
Frame cut to size
Stretcher bars are cut for the ordered size, heavier sections on the larger formats.
Stretching
The canvas is stretched and stapled on the reverse so the face stays clean.
Gallery wrap and hardware
The image is wrapped around the edge and the hanging hardware is fitted.
Final inspection
Frame squareness, canvas tension and surface are checked before packing.

What frame depth do you supply?
The published price list quotes a 3 cm depth stretched build. Other depths are quoted on request.
Is hanging hardware included?
Yes, on stretched canvases it is fitted before packing. Rolled canvases ship without hardware.
Should I order rolled or stretched?
Rolled if freight cost matters most and you can stretch locally. Stretched if the pieces need to be retail-ready or installed straight from the box.
