The bases we work with
We work with knit and woven fabrics including RPET, Carvico, chiffon, satin and organic cotton. RPET and organic cotton are the two most common starting points for brands that need a sustainability story they can defend.
RPET behaves differently to virgin polyester
Recycled polyester is workable in the same constructions, but shade consistency between dye lots needs more attention. That is a reason to buy the full colour requirement in one lot rather than topping up later.
Organic cotton and shrinkage
Organic cotton bases still need the same pre treatment discipline as conventional cotton. Shrinkage is confirmed on the sample fabric, and the pattern is adjusted before bulk rather than after.
Minimums are the real constraint
The fabric mill minimum, not the garment minimum, is usually what limits a small sustainable run. Sourcing from the Guangzhou market rather than direct from a mill is often the only way to get a small quantity of a specialist base.
Say what you can prove
Fabric certificates belong to the mill, not to us. If you need documentation to support a claim on your website, ask for it before the fabric is bought, because it is difficult to obtain afterwards.
