Pork Slaughterhouse Cold Storage — Hubei

Pork Slaughterhouse Cold Storage — Hubei

Slaughterhouse + blast freezing integrated system for pork products.

  • Dedicated line
  • 0-4℃ / -30℃
  • 5 months
  • 2022
Project Overview

Background And Requirement

A modern pork slaughterhouse and processing facility requiring an integrated cold chain from slaughter line through chilling, processing, storage, and shipment. Howcool delivered the complete cold-chain refrigeration package as part of an EPC consortium.

The facility handles approximately 2,000 pigs per day, requiring rapid carcass chilling (from 39℃ body temperature to 4℃ core within 18 hours), cutting-room temperature control (+8-12℃ for food safety), and finished-goods storage (-2℃ chill or -18℃ frozen). HACCP-compliant design throughout.

Project complexity included tight integration with the slaughter line's speed (stopping the refrigeration would halt the entire plant), stringent hygiene standards (daily wash-down, stainless-steel hardware throughout), and multiple concurrent temperature zones with strict cross-contamination control.
