Centrifugal Versus Slow Juicers
A 1000 RPM induction juicer, an 80 RPM slow juicer and an 18,000 RPM power juicer do three different jobs. Here is how the Tophome builds compare.
Three Speeds, Three Products
The JE103 and JE103A turn their auger at 80 RPM on a 150 W DC motor. The JE127 runs an AC induction motor at 1000 RPM. The JE128 and JE129 are 850 W two speed power juicers at 14,000-18,000 RPM. Those are three different machines, not three price points of the same one.
Where Slow Juicing Wins
At 80 RPM the fruit is pressed rather than thrown against a filter. The JE103A is rated for continuous use of less than 30 minutes, which is the figure to print in the manual so the end user is not surprised.
Where Speed Wins
A 75 mm chute on the JE128 and JE129 takes whole fruit, and a 2.0 L pulp container means a full batch can be run without stopping. For a demonstration counter that throughput is the selling point.
The Quiet Middle
The JE127 sits between the two at 1000 RPM with patented Spin-Dry juicing technology and a measured noise level below 60 dB. It is the build to quote when the juicer has to run while somebody is talking over it.
