The L-style mounting is a pole-mounting solution: a 555 mm aluminium arm that holds a small panel at a fixed 30 degree angle from the horizontal. It supports all brands of 5 W, 10 W and 20 W solar panels, is made of aluminium with stainless steel screws, and is maintenance free once installed.
Mounting a panel on a pole is the most versatile option available. The pole is reinforced by steel and is therefore very sturdy and able to handle harsh weather, and pole mounting can be adjusted so the panel follows the direction of the sunlight through the seasons. The limitation is scale: a single mount carries a maximum of six to eight panels, so a larger array needs more mounts.

Against a roof-mounted Z bracket
A Z bracket is flush and fixed to a structure. The L-style arm puts the panel on a pole, clear of shading, snow and interference, at a useful fixed tilt.
Against an adjustable mount
The L arm is fixed at 30°. If you need to change the angle after installation, use the adjustable RV mount instead.
Against ground mounting
A pole keeps the panel above vegetation and snow line and is much harder to reach on foot.
