Bone Shape Dog ID Tags for a Pet Retailer

A pet retailer with an in-store personalisation counter

Bone shaped glitter paw dog ID tags in assorted colours

Client Background

A pet retailer with an in-store personalisation counter. Client names are not published, so the customer is described by sector rather than named.

Project Challenge

The retailer needed a colour range wide enough to merchandise, on a tag that could still be engraved cleanly at the counter.

Customer Pain Points

Our Solution

One 38 x 25 mm bone tool was used across the whole glitter colour range, with the engraving area kept clear of the glitter enamel fill.

Manufacturing Process

How the Piece Was Made

Die stamped in iron

Part of the production route for this piece.

Glitter enamel filled by colour

Part of the production route for this piece.

Epoxy coated

Part of the production route for this piece.

Engraving area masked

Part of the production route for this piece.

Supply Chain and Quality Control

Artwork, tooling, enamel or moulding, plating and assembly all run in the same plant, so there is one approval chain rather than several. The approved physical sample is the quality reference for the production run, and colour match, plating coverage, edge finish and fitting strength are checked before packing.

Packing is normally 100 to 1000 pieces per PP bag or small box, with custom packing available. For improper production the order is remade or refunded.

Final Result

A full glitter colour range from a single tool, engravable in store.

Customer Benefit

The counter could offer colour choice without the retailer carrying tooling cost per colour.
