Chassis And Body Configuration In Five Steps
Describe the duty cycle
Load, road surface and daily running distance decide the chassis series before anyone talks about body size. A short heavy haul and a long light round point at different trucks at the same payload.
Fix the drive layout
4x2, 4x4, 6x4, 6x6 and 8x4 are chosen against the worst ground the truck has to reach, not the average. Changing it later means changing the chassis.
Size the body against the payload
Body volume, tank capacity, crane rating or compactor size are matched to the rated payload of the chosen chassis so the rear axle is not overloaded in normal work.
Choose the working equipment
Pump model, crane model, cooling unit, spray gear or lifting frame are named in the specification table for the model, and mainstream brands are used where the table names one.
Confirm the drive side and emission level
Left- or right-hand drive and the emission standard are set by the destination market and have to be confirmed before production starts.
