What IAAPA Is And Why It Matters When Sourcing Rides

What It Is
IAAPA is the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. It was founded in 1918 and is one of the oldest and largest international trade associations in the amusement and attractions industry, covering amusement parks, water parks, family entertainment centres, zoos, aquariums and other attraction sectors.
What It Does
IAAPA advocates for the industry with governments and regulators, and provides education and training for industry professionals through seminars, webinars and in-person courses covering ride safety and maintenance, customer service, marketing and sales for attractions, and trends in amusement technology.
Why It Matters To A Buyer
The IAAPA expos are where manufacturers show current platforms and where buyers can see equipment running rather than photographed. If you are specifying a ride you have only seen in a catalogue, an expo is the cheapest way to inspect the build quality of several suppliers in one week.
