CE Certification For Amusement Rides What The Standards Cover
Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, EN 13814 and EN 1176 are three different things, and buyers routinely ask for the wrong one.

Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
This is the legal framework for placing machinery on the European market. An attestation of conformity from a notified or certification body confirms the technical file has been examined. It is issued against a product family, which is why you should ask which family your specific model sits in rather than assuming a certificate covers everything in the catalogue.
EN 13814 Fairground And Amusement Park Machinery
This is the standard for amusement rides proper: design, calculation, manufacture and inspection of fairground and amusement park machinery and structures. If you are buying a carousel, a pendulum, a Ferris wheel or a samba balloon, this is the relevant standard.
EN 1176 Playground Equipment
This is the playground standard, not the ride standard. It applies to play equipment and surfacing. A soft playground or a combination play structure is assessed against EN 1176, which is why both standards appear on the same certificate for a manufacturer that makes both.
EN 60204-1 And The EMC Standards
EN 60204-1 covers electrical equipment of machines. The EN IEC 61000-6 parts cover electromagnetic compatibility, immunity and emission. These matter for the control panel and drive rather than for the structure.
What To Ask For Before You Ship
Ask for the attestation that names the product family your model belongs to, check the issue and expiry dates against your delivery date, and keep the copy on file. Local operating approval, inspection regimes and insurance requirements are separate from CE marking and are handled in your own country.
