You take an existing product and put your brand on it. Logo, colour, manual and retail packaging change. The engineering does not. This is the fastest route into a category and it is where most new brands start.
OEM
You specify the product. The starting point is still a proven model, but the accessory kit, colour, packaging, manual and market requirements are written into a specification that you approve on a sample before production.

- OEM gives you a product your competitors cannot list identically
- OEM specifications survive repeat orders; verbal agreements do not
