Classification of Packaging Paper and Cardboard

Packaging paper and cardboard are categorised by function and material. Each type serves a specific industrial or consumer packaging need, from heavy-duty industrial wrapping to food-safe and light-sensitive protection.

Paper Bag Paper

Also known as cement bag paper, this is used for packaging bulk industrial materials such as cement, fertilisers, and pesticides. It is designed for strength and durability under heavy load and moisture exposure.

Kraft Paper

Kraft paper is used for industrial packaging of textiles, instruments, meters, and small consumer goods. It is also used as a base for file bags, paper boxes, and sandpaper. Its strength and tear resistance make it suitable for demanding applications.

Chicken Skin Paper

Primarily used for packaging food and general industrial products. It offers a balance of strength and flexibility, suitable for lightweight to medium-weight items.

Parchment Paper and Imitation Parchment Paper

Parchment paper, also called plant sheepskin, is high-quality packaging paper used for chemical drugs, instruments, mechanical parts, and oily foods. Imitation parchment paper is greaseproof and used for food, medicine, and greasy mechanical products.

Cellophane

Used for transparent, decorative packaging of medicines, food, textiles, and cosmetics. It can also serve as a transparent adhesive layer to enhance the appearance of original paper.

Food Packaging Paper

Divided into three types: Type I for candy wrapping, Type II for popsicle wrapping, and Type III for general food wrapping. Each type is designed for specific food contact and protection requirements.

Tissue Wrapping Paper

Categorized into three types: Type I for high-end goods and carbon paper use, Type II for general instruments, and Type III for general commodity lining. It provides a soft, protective layer during transport and storage.

Black Opaque Packaging Paper

Used for light-sensitive materials such as photographic paper, motion picture film, X-ray film, and 120 film. Its opacity prevents exposure to light during storage and transit.

Neutral Packaging Paper

Used for military supplies, aluminium products, and instrument parts. It provides protection without introducing reactive materials or colours.

Non-Heat-Sealing Tea Filter Paper

Designed for use in non-heat-sealing tea automatic packaging machines or manual packaging of tea and Chinese patent medicine filter bags. It allows for proper filtration without heat bonding.

Anti-Rust Base Paper

Serves as the base material for making anti-rust paper. Used to protect metal components during storage and transport by preventing oxidation.
