Tag Production and Packaging Overview
Electronic tags are produced in three main categories: tag class, injection molded products, and card class. Each serves different application needs based on shape, material, and mounting method.
Tag Class Tags
These are self-adhesive tags designed for use on boxes, bottles, or other surfaces. They can be applied automatically by labeling machines on production lines or manually, such as on car windows or documents like student ID cards.
Injection Molding Tags
Plastic processing techniques are used to create custom-shaped products containing transponders. These include chips, key cards, watches, and other specialized forms tailored to specific industrial or consumer applications.
Card Class Tags
Card class tags come in two types: PVC cards and paper or PP cards. PVC cards follow ISO-7810 standard sizes and use standard card-making processes including printing, inlay placement, lamination, and punching. They can be made in standard or custom shapes.
Paper and PP Card Construction
Paper and PP cards are made using special equipment with no restrictions on size, shape, or thickness. They consist of a surface layer, a transponder (inlay) layer, and a bottom layer, typically made of cardboard or similar materials.
