Use guide
Drive the spike with a block of wood over the rim so the tube does not burr. Leave 20 to 30 mm proud of the lawn and drop the pole in.

How do I choose the size?
Match the spike diameter to the centre pole diameter of the airer: D32 for a 32 mm pole, D40 for a 40 mm pole, and so on.
Is it the same length in every size?
Yes - 385 mm of steel tube in all six diameters.
Can one spike fit several pole sizes?
Not this one. CDG103 and CDG104 are multi-spikes that adapt across D32 to D50 mm.
