A design company that ended up owning the factory
Hangzhou Jungelife Commodity Co., Limited and Ningbo Beilewu Household Co., Ltd were founded in 2008 by Tonio Lyu, the earliest Chinese practitioner in the outdoor rotary dryer business.

10,000 m2, 100+ staff, one product category taken seriously
The plant sits in Yuyao, Ningbo, Zhejiang, China and runs its own metal pipe production machines, injection machines and clothes line machines, together with an aluminium oxidation workshop. Almost nothing in a Jungelife airer is bought in as a finished part.
That is unusual in this category. Most rotary airers are assembled from tube, mouldings and line bought from three different suppliers, which is why the same nominal specification performs so differently between brands.
The design side has not gone away either. Tonio Lyu still runs an industrial design company alongside the factory, and the clothes dryer projects are a research partnership with Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT).

2004 - 2005 — Industrial designer at Ardia Asia
Tonio Lyu starts in product design rather than in trading, which is why this catalogue is organised around arm sections and pack formats.
2005 - 2008 — Industrial designer at Betterhome
Three years inside a houseware manufacturer, working on the laundry category.
2008 — Ningbo Beilewu Household Co., Ltd founded
The independent factory is set up in Yuyao, Ningbo, with its own metal pipe production, injection moulding and clothes line machines.
2008 - 2012 — Partner at Huanyu
Four years as a partner in the Huanyu hand tool business. That is where the screwdriver, bit, precision and tool-set range on this site comes from.
2012 - present — Founder and owner at Hamaya, Jungelife and Bellehaus
Three brands out of one plant, plus an industrial design company and a clothes dryer research partnership with Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT).
