Settle the container first

The pouch, roll or box sets the maximum handle length, and handle length constrains which brushes can be in the set at all. Fixing it first turns a circular problem into a linear one.

This is why the catalog's sets are shown with their containers: item 50013 with its soft PU pouch, item 50014 with its waist pouch and strap. The handles in those sets were built for those containers rather than cut down to fit them.

Piece count is a positioning decision

Piece count signals what a set is for, and buyers read it instantly:

• Four pieces - travel, gift with purchase, amenity kits. Powder, blush and two eye brushes cover a face (item 50013).
• Seven pieces - a standalone retail kit that can carry its own price point (item 50018).
• A worn waist set - professional work and school training, where the kit has to move with the artist (item 50014).
• An open line-up - when the set has to match a specific product range (item 50017).

One handle material across the set

Mixing handle materials inside one set is the single most common reason a kit looks assembled rather than designed. Aluminum with wood, or painted plastic with metal, reads as a parts bin even when every individual brush is good.

Item 50018 holds aluminum ferrules and aluminum handles across all seven pieces, which is why it photographs as one product. Item 50017 does the same with slim metal handles.

Decide the vegan question before the line-up

A set that mixes nylon and goat hair cannot carry a vegan claim, and this is almost always discovered late, when the set has already been assembled and photographed.

Decide it first. If the answer is vegan, the set is nylon throughout - in this catalog that points to item 50018 and to the nylon kabuki items for a face brush.

What to approve before production

Approve the assembled set in its pouch, not the brushes as loose items. Three things only show up in the assembled sample: whether the pouch closes cleanly with every brush in it, whether the handle finishes match under the same light, and whether the set is balanced when it is rolled or zipped.
