What Each One Does
EMS stands for electrical muscle stimulation. The current is used to make a muscle contract, which is why EMS devices appear in fitness and body shaping ranges.
TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. It is used for comfort and relief rather than to drive a contraction, which is why TENS devices appear in pain relief ranges.
How The Products Differ
EMS devices often come as shaped silicone pads for the abdomen, hip or arm, with a controller that runs a training programme.
TENS devices are usually a small controller with lead wires or a wireless patch, with modes described by sensation rather than by muscle group.
What This Means For Packaging Copy
Because the two are regulated and described differently in many markets, the wording on the box matters. Claims should match the certification and the market rules that apply where you sell.
We supply the device and the test reports. The final marketing claims are set by you and by your regulatory adviser for that market.
Choosing Between Them For A Range
If your range is built around fitness and body shaping, EMS trainers fit the story. If it is built around comfort after work or sport, TENS style pulse devices fit better.
Several buyers carry both and separate them clearly on the shelf and in the listing copy.
