Project Challenge
A bagging machine on its own cannot produce a tagged tea bag, and a line that lands without film, thread and tag stock waits idle for a second shipment.
Customer Pain Points
- Machine and consumables normally ship on separate schedules
- Tag and thread attachment needs a second machine that has to match the bagging machine
- Film width has to match the machine or the first run is wasted
Our Solution
We shipped a C20DX pyramid tea bag packing machine together with a C25 tagging machine, which seals tea, thread and tag onto the film in one pass, plus nylon film, thread and tag film in the matching widths.
Build and Shipment Process
- 1C20DX pyramid tea bag packing machine built and run off
- 2C25 tagging machine matched to the same film widths
- 3Nylon film, thread and tag film picked in the widths the machines are set for
- 4Machines and film stock crated together
- 5Loaded as a 40GP consignment from Xiamen to America
Supply Chain Coordination
Film, thread and tag stock were picked against the machine settings before crating, so what arrived in the container was already matched to the machine rather than ordered afterwards.
Quality Control
Both machines were run before crating and the film widths were checked against the machine settings during picking.
Final Result
A working pyramid tea bag line with tagging capability and starting film stock delivered to America in one 40GP container in September 2023.
Customer Benefit
The line could start producing tagged tea bags on the film supplied, without a separate consumables order and the delay that comes with it.
