Stacking only works when boxes share a base. A short guide to reading footprints across the Welfan storage items before you build a bay.
The problem with mixed footprints
Most storage failures in a home are not material failures. They are geometry failures: a box that overhangs the one below it, a lid that will not take the weight, a stack that leans after a week.
The cause is almost always a range where each size has its own base dimension.
How the Welfan storage range is laid out
The transparent box family uses a shared 36 x 27 cm footprint for items TP-012 and TP-013, varying only the depth: 14 cm and 22 cm. TP-011 is deliberately smaller at 26 x 17 x 12 cm, sized for drawers rather than stacks.
The basket family works the same way. The wicker storage basket with lid and the big wicker storage basket with lid both measure 38.5 x 27 cm at the base, at 13.5 cm and 22 cm deep. The small basket at 27 x 19.5 x 10.5 cm is the shelf and drawer size.
How to use that when planning a bay
Put the two shared-footprint items of each family next to each other on the shelf. They line up visually and they stack in either order.
Use the odd size out as the accessory item rather than trying to stack it. TP-011 and the 10.5 cm basket both work best inside a drawer or on a desk.
Depth as the real buying decision
Once the footprint is fixed, depth is what the customer is actually choosing between. 12 to 14 cm keeps flat items visible in one or two layers. 22 cm takes bulk: bedding, winter clothing, larger toys.
Stocking one shallow and one deep item per footprint covers both without adding a third facing.
