DTY is the standard low-elastic polyester yarn used as weaving yarn for webbing.
Intermingling types named on the mill note: NIM (normal), SIM (semi) and HIM (high), the last often used as a substitute for twisting.
Cross-sections: round DTY; trilobal DTY for bright luster on decorative webbing; cationic DTY for two-tone dyeing.
Function finishes named: regular, UV-stabilized (preferred for outdoor webbing), flame retardant, anti-static, and recycled rPET DTY used where GRS is required.
Luster: semi-dull for general outdoor webbing, full-dull matte, bright for decorative bag and apparel tape.
Linear density examples on the post: 75D/72F, 100D/96F, 150D/144F, 300D/576F. 150D and 300D are called standard for medium-to-heavy webbing; 75D for lightweight narrow webbing.
Twist: S or Z determines twill direction; non-twist DTY is used for flat, non-twill webbing.
