Advantages and Disadvantages of Polypropylene Fiber

Published figures: density 0.90–0.92 g/cm³, described as the lightest chemical fiber — 20% lighter than nylon, 30% lighter than polyester, 40% lighter than viscose. High strength dry and wet. Used for fishing net and cable as well as webbing. Good elasticity, wear and corrosion resistance.

The same note is why PP webbing is specified when weight and moisture matter more than the drape of polyester.
