1. Combing
You will need a mannequin head, a spray bottle and a wide-tooth comb. Put the matted wig onto the mannequin head and use needles to secure it. Prepare a spray bottle filled with fabric softener and water at one to twenty.
Spray a little water onto the wig and comb all the knots and tangles through strand by strand. Brush the wig starting at the ends and working upwards to the scalp area until the whole wig is tangle free.
2. Washing
Put some mild temperature water in the sink with a few cupfuls of sulfate free shampoo. Do not use hot water for curl wigs, because hot water will remove the curls. Soak the wig for ten to fifteen minutes, then wash it gently to remove all the extra oil or dirt. Rinse with the water flowing in the direction the hair is laid.
3. Deep Conditioning
Saturate the unit with deep conditioner and put it in a plastic bag so that every hair gets moisturised. Microwave for thirty seconds, or simply let it sit for an hour or more.
4. Rinse The Conditioner
Rinse the conditioner out, use a towel to absorb the water and let the wig air dry.
