Tubular lugs are a type of bimetallic lug. They are made of aluminum and copper, and are welded together. This creates a strong, durable joint. Tubular lugs are used when an aluminum cable needs to be terminated by a copper bus bar or contact. If only copper or aluminum lugs are used, a galvanic reaction can occur because of the dissimilar metals. The use of bimetallic lugs ensures a strong, durable joint.
