HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) Filters improve the quality of your air by capturing and removing airborne particles from the air down to 0.3 µm or 0.000012 inches in size.

This includes but is not limited to: Airborne dust, pollen, mold, dust mite debris, and bacteria.

Our HEPA Filters are often used in conjunction with activated carbon pre-filters, which serve two main purposes:

• Capturing larger particles such as dust and hair before they can clog up and reduce the life of the HEPA filter.
• Capturing ultra-fine particles which would otherwise pass through the HEPA filter through the process of adsorption.

This includes volatile organic compounds (VOCs), smoke, odors, and chemical fumes.

Activated carbon is a porous material which grabs hold of these particles within its microscopic pores, and can become saturated more quickly than a HEPA Filter, requiring more frequent replacement to ensure optimal performance.

We recommend replacing the HEPA Filter every 6 months to a year, but this can vary greatly depending on the environment and hours of use on the filter.

Carbon Pre-filters should be replaced every 2 to 3 months to be effective in the adsorption process, but will continue to function as a basic pre-filter for much longer.
