The front band is a solid ribbon of fabric with a reinforced seam behind it. That reinforcement is what stops the mesh behind the band from showing at the edge once hair is on the cap.
Behind the band the cap opens up: floral stretch lace runs along the sides and around the back, and the crown is built to order in either Swiss lace or silk.

Materials

Kosher-Compliant Construction Notes
The front band exists so that neither mesh nor the wearer's own hair appears at the forehead. What goes into the crown — lace or silk — is a separate question that still needs to be put to the rav. No hechsher name has been invented for this cap.

Wash and dry the band without wringing it, because a twisted ribbon keeps the crease. Store the cap so nothing presses on the front seam, and loosen the nape ribbon before taking the cap off.

Yes. The same band and the same perimeter are built with a silk crown instead of a lace one.
