Aluminium vs Stainless Steel Shower Enclosures

Where each frame material earns its price, and where it does not.

Both framed families in the Xinxin catalogue do the same job. They differ in what they cost, how they age in a humid room, and what they look like after five years of hard water.

Aluminium

Extruded aluminium is the volume material: lighter, cheaper per metre, and easy to anodise or coat in matte black, chrome-look or brushed gold. It is the reason a developer can buy several hundred identical units without the frame dominating the budget. Aluminium does not rust; its failure mode is coating wear at handles and rollers, which is a hardware replacement rather than a frame replacement.

Stainless steel

Stainless costs more and weighs more, and it earns that in wet, salty or heavily chlorinated environments — coastal hotels, spa and pool changing areas, buildings where cleaning chemicals are aggressive. It also takes a brushed finish that stays convincing longer under scale and detergent.

Choosing between them

High unit count, ordinary domestic bathroom: aluminium series
Coastal or pool-adjacent project: stainless steel series
Mixed development: aluminium in apartments, stainless in shared wet areas
Either way, frame finish is a separate decision from frame material

Xinxin lists both series with the same model-code scheme, so a project can move between them without re-drawing the schedule.

Xinxin publishes model codes and finishes but not sizes, glass thickness or certification. Ask for those by model code before you specify.
